About Me

Every Artist was at first an amateur -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Well, I am back on my feet again. I am back in PDP and loving every minute of it. I am starting to realize how much I have grown over the past year. Everything is solidifying for me and I am approaching this practicum from a place of strength not weakness. I am making this practicum mine and putting forth my best effort. I know that God is behind me and that makes me feel very happy. I am excited about this new phase in my life and cannot wait until I am done and able to walk unfettered into my destiny. I am not saying that I am perfect or that I don't have bad days, we all do. I am saying that in the bad days I can find peace and comfort and I can see the positive. That is a much better place to be in. Without this last year I would not be where I am today, so I thank all those who had a hand in it. It was uncomfortable and heart breaking but I am a much better teacher and person for it.

Being a Teacher means...

  • Being a teacher means waking up every morning and being thankful that you are able to be apart of childrens lives.
  • As a teacher you watch those children grow up and mature into the men and women they were created to be.
  • You help them to see that they were created for something more and better than they can even imagine at the moment.
  • As a teacher you learn that even though there may be hectic and overwhelming days, those days will be forgotten with the passage of time and only the pleasant memories will be remembered.
  • You also know that even though you only have one year to reach all the children that walk into your classroom, any attempt to do so will be carried by them for the rest of their lives.
  • It means being a source of inspiration to all the children that come into your classroom. Even if you do not reach them all, at the end of the year, if you made an effort, you will know that you have tried your best.
  • To be a teacher means you have to fight to keep your ground, to love with all your heart to accept your own shortcomings as well as those around you and to realize that at the end of the day the only thing you can do is smile and look forward to the next days obstacles.
